Today is officially the spring equinox, which marks the beginning of spring in the Northern hemisphere and fall in the Southern. It is also only one out of two days throughout the year where the sun shines directly on the equator making day and night equal lengths of time. For us up here in NJ it's hard to believe it's actually spring since we continue to have such cold weather! Needless to say, we're very excited for some sunshine and warmth.

With an increase in temperature comes fresh foliage, budding leaves, and lots and lots of flowers! We thought in anticipation for a proper spring we'd share with you a few of our favorite Mottahedeh patterns and pieces that showcase beautiful flowers for the next couple of weeks. For the month of April, every week we'll post a Mottahedeh pattern inspired by nature and explain a little bit about what we find so fascinating about the pattern or piece. Everything we make is enriched with history.
