We wrote a new book!
It has been a long time since we posted on our blog and I am looking forward to picking up the pace; way up!
I do realize that I was getting pretty esoteric, that is, only understood by a small number of people with an interest in the elements of design. When you are writing for a blog, you are speaking to an audience that you cannot see, something that is challenging for me.
We have been busy creating a new book during the course of the last year and a half—it is called
Splendid Settings -100 Years of Mottahedeh Design.
Yep, we are coming up to our 100th year anniversary in 2025.
100 years doesn’t sound so long, one realizes as one ages. For instance My grandmother was born in 1906.
The book is at the printer, being printed in Spain with our publisher Pointed Leaf Press. It is large with over 250 pages and many beautiful and panoramic images, predominantly photographed by our excellent photographer, Antoine Bootz.
We have traveled the country to highlight spectacular homes: at the ocean, cities, countryside and historic sites. It is my voice, as I have been at the helm of Mottahedeh for over 30 years.
Mottahedeh represents many styles and looks stunning in all kinds of settings, though we concentrate on developing historic timeless pieces with a compelling story, proving that great design conquers time and space here on Earth.
