The Traditional Collection

Mottahedeh’s rigorous standard of excellence includes lighting, with our collection of historic table lamps that is regarded as one of the finest available.

The collection includes range of shapes, colors and sizes that are versatile enough to accent a variety of interiors. Classic in style, Mottahedeh’s emphasis on color is superbly realized in the lamps with some designs requiring as many as 27 individual colors.

Many of the lamps are produced of the finest quality of hard porcelain. The shades are fine silk and each comes fitted with a decorative finial. The bases have been created to compliment the design and materials, including hand finished hardwood, gold leaf, marble and brass. All lamps are UL approved and hand assembled in the United States.

Motta Creamware lamps

The Creamware Collection

Mottahedeh’s Creamware is a pure white earthenware body, produced with the addition of white china clay, allowing for delicate detail on the service of the vessel. The style was first produced in Staffordshire, England and perfected by Josiah Wedgewood in 1770. Our Creamware is produced in Italy and cast and finished by hand. The scenes and motifs depicted are Chinese in origin.

The Rookwood for Mottahedeh Collection

Mottahedeh has been recognized around the world for the quality of its museum reproductions in porcelain, stoneware and faience. Mottahedeh has now partnered with Rookwood Art Pottery to introduce vintage and classic vessels that reflect the rich history of Rookwood, one of America’s most honored decorative accessories companies, found in Cincinnati in 1880 by Maria Longworth Nichols.

“Behind every piece is a story” Mottahedeh President Wendy Kvalheim says “Having a love for the simple style and rich glazes that characterize Rookwood, we are glad to see this venerable period brought back to life.”

The smooth vellum glazes are produced using original formulas of the period. Shades are linen on paper. Please take a look at our wide range of traditional shapes and decorations.
