When the fragrance is a memory, the vessel is a treasure.

“Our home fragrances are not just candles” says Wendy Kvalheim, owner and product development director at Mottahedeh. “We wanted to make the ultimate fragrance experience; a keepsake, and at the same time, a spectacular gift.”
It was quite easy to find the container, as historic porcelain reproductions are our forte, produced in Portugal. For the fragrances we partnered with Vila Hermanos of Spain, whose ancient business originally supplied the Vatican. The fragrances originate in Southern France with a complex formulation of several gentle elements.
Fourteen votives fill out the assortment.
The vessel styles are our favorite well-known porcelain patterns. We use high quality wax and 100% palm free vegetable oil with a smoke free burn. The best votive is one that becomes a liquid pool that wafts fragrance gently over time. Each porcelain pattern is matched with a scent.

Lastly and a rather complex part, was to develop a beautiful gift box that allows the porcelain vessels with lids to be shipped with no breakage. The blue and gold band wrapping the box is decorated with our most notable dinnerware designs over the years. Your Mottahedeh fans will be delighted.
The vessels are available in multiple sizes. Fu Dog Vessel, Grand Round, Petite Round, Shang and Two Votives on a Tray. When the fragrance is used up, the porcelain can be cleaned with boiling water and used for condiments, powder, cotton balls, or as a decoration on a shelf.

Our foray into the world of soap took us to Vermont to a specialty soap manufacturing company.
Our foray into the world of soap took us to Vermont to a specialty soap manufacturing company that makes products for several well-known luxury brands. We asked them to formulate a universally appealing fragrance, based on a perfume we found to be extremely attractive. (Thank you, Wendy Rahn, for this discovery.)
We asked for the purest form of soap possible while offering a smooth feel, and stamped with our name. It is our exclusive formula. Not only are the best loved porcelains unique to Mottahedeh, but refills or individual soap sets are available into the future.
Not only is the porcelain beautiful, the soap is exceptional, but also the box is a presentation statement.
Not only is the porcelain beautiful, the soap is exceptional, but also the box is a presentation statement. The porcelain is fitted into the box with three bars of soap. The box is sturdy and shippable, while the package is a bold turquoise blue with a coral and gold band, featuring Mottahedeh designs from the past. Our Mottahedeh company is 96 years old and has been synonymous with provenance and quality. It is fun to “boldly go where we have not gone before” and our foray into soaps has been a happy experience.
