This month's Pattern of the Month is Mottahedeh's recently introduced Palma!

Palma is an exact reproduction of a design, circa 1840, designed by Fyodor Solntsev, the great European art historian who painted interiors for cathedrals and designed much of the Kremlin under the patronage of Tsar Nicolas I. The original Solntsev design incorporates the elements of a plate owned by Tsar Alexei Mikailovich, exisiting in 1667, inspired by the domes of magnificent mosques in Constantinople. The center of the plate is reminiscent of Celtic patterns. Truly universal in its theme, this historical pattern is a mark of excellent design. Available in a five piece place setting, presentation plate, and crescent salad plate all featuring three different golds, rich navy, green, magenta and a touch of ruby.
