This time of year, everyone in the Northeastern United States is learning what, in their back yards,  weathered the harsh winter.

With new buds comes new promises and excitement as flowers continue to bloom and give way to beautiful new foliage. A few years ago we re-introduced an old Mottahedeh pattern called "Nutleaf". We updated the color pallet to match our existing "Apple Lace" and "Green Lace" patterns, we enlarged the leaves on the plates to the point that they actually fold over the porcelain shape, and we added hand designed gold flecking around the perimeters of the plates and throughout the leaves. The result was a contemporary, youthful, spring recreation of four North American trees; pecan, oak, hazel nut, and chestnut.

What we absolutely adore about this dessert set is that it is clean, vibrant, and matches lovely with our existing patterns, or looks great as a dessert set all on its own. It makes a wonderful gift; as the four plates stack into one of our decorative paper gift boxes. The cake plate is generous in size and perfect for serving dessert or breakfast out on the patio.

Martha Stewart loved the pattern so much that in May and June of 2012 it was shown in both Martha Stewart Living and Martha Stewart Weddings.
