The inspiration is our new Haviland & Parlon pattern "Sultane". It is a deep purple with little lavendar dots all over it. I made these for our show displays in High Point and New York City. These cookies are easy to make and went perfectly with the pattern.
It's helpful if you stick the dough in the fridge for half an hour, and also right before you throw them in the oven. This will keep the dough from puffing up too much while cooking. I baked the fondant at the same time, placed on top of the cookie dough, which gave it a puffy look, and stuck the edible pearl candies in place before popping them in the oven.
