The Freshman 15 is not a myth. In fact, it's a reality for most college students; studying consumes your life, papers take up time, socializing gets in the way of working out, and cafeteria food/eating out makes healthy nutrition hard. College kids often resort to bad eating habits because their main form of cooking is the microwave.
Last March we had a post titled "College Kid Gifts" where we suggested buying for your college kid the Blue Canton Cereal Bowl (HC130) - $65 and the Blue Dragon Dessert Plate (S1742) - $50 because they were both microwavable safe and less likely to chip and crack. This fall we have a new Blue Canton piece to share with you.
You know those cold fall nights when the temperature is brisk and the scent of rotting leaves wafts through the air? Do you remember returning to your dorm room, changing into PJs and thick socks, ready to bundle up under a blanket to watch a movie with your roommate, or alone in your bed on your laptop? Well it's those nights that sometimes a little comfort food is just the right thing to get you in the chillaxin' mood. Nothing beats a warm brownie when you're ready to vedge out. And now that Freshman of yours doesn't have to feel so bad about consuming a whole box of brownies (come on, you know we've all done it.) No Pudge Fudge Brownies are a pretty delicious alternative in the moment. All you have to do is add non-fat vanilla yogurt and shazaam! Instand gratification!
And one of the best things about the No Pudge Fudge Brownies is that there are directions for a single serving RIGHT ON THE BOX!
Our Blue Canton Oval Box (HC128) - $90 acts as a single serving casserole dish. It can be used to make brownies, lasagna, or anything that you might otherwise be able to make in the oven, but instead made in the microwave. It's microwave and dishwasher safe. You can even stash it in the freezer or fridge (just make sure you don't put it in when it's still hot - just like glass it could crack.) But it's a reusable alternative to paper plates. The more creative your college kid, the more use they'll get from this mini cookware life-saver.
