"We do not inherit the earth from our ancestors, we borrow it from our children." ~Native American Proverb
With Earth Day only next week we couldn't resist sharing with you a recent find! This little globe of awesomeness is a Clean Air Tree Kit. You can pick one up for $5 at WholeFoods or order them online at World Clean Air Forest Initiative. Basically it's a tiny tree growing kit. It contains everything you need to grow and plant your own tree. The kit's globe is made from potato waste and is 100% biodegradable. The sleeve is made from compostable corn starch. The instructions booklet is made from certified FSC paper and even the ink used for printing is vegetable based. It comes with a growing pellet, a growing pot, and 6-10 tree seeds that are already glued to the pellet with biodegradable glue. Once you plant your tree you can then register it at www.wcafi.org and they will plant a tree to match! So basically you're planting 2 trees for $5!
Exotic butterflies for Costa Rica decorate our four vibrantly colored round porcelain boxes. The butterflies are known worldwide to collectors who follow their migration between Central America and the United States. The beautiful and delicate painting correctly represents each butterfly. One unique butterfly type is featured on each box and, in keeping with Mottahedeh tradition, is described on the backstamp.
