This graceful design, with its leaves, berries and butterflies, was derived directly from antique Chinese Palace porcelain. Many porcelain pieces produced in China during the Kangxi Period (1662-1722) had Famille Verte decoration. This large cachepot with abundant pink peonies is opulent. The cachepot, with five curved sides and standing on five rounded and delicate feet represent WUFU- the five happinesses: health, wealth, virtuous character, long life and a happy end.
